The name of the 12 Indian players of the Indian team has been announced for the first T20 match played at Kolkata  between India vs West Indies.

The first match of the three T20 matches will be played in Kolkata today and for this, the BCCI has declared the name of 12 players before the match.

 

The last 11 of these 12 players will be selected.

 

Team India’s regular captain Virat Kohli has been rested for this three-match T-20 series. Rohit Sharma will lead the T20 team in his non-existence.

Rohit Sharma (Captain), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Dinesh Karthik, Manish Pandey, Rishabh Pant, Kunal Pandya, Yuswendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhubaneswar Kumar, Jaspreet Bumrah and Khalil Ahmed

 

 

All-rounder Kunal Pandya can make his debut in the first match of the T20 series.

His name is also included in the list of 12 players declared. Krunal is the brother of  Hardik Pandya and he was also part of the team

that played the three-match T-20 international series on the England tour. They did not get place in the last 11 though.

 

Krunal has consistently performed well for Mumbai Indians, Baroda and India A for the last three years.

In the spin department he will support the wrist spinners like Yujvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.

In the list of the last 12 players, fast bowler Khalil Ahmed has been selected with Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jaspreet Bumrah, but it is still to see if the Indian team will go with three fast bowlers.

Opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan, who struggled to get the rhythm, also spent a lot of time on the net. They arrived first for the practice session and stayed on till the end.
